Repair may fit a serviceable sensor, filter, valve, control, connection, or replaceable part. Replacement may deserve discussion after major internal damage, repeated failures, unavailable parts, or an impractical repair is confirmed.
Routine maintenance supports normal operation, while repair addresses an active fault. The two may overlap when mineral buildup or a clogged filter contributes, but routine care cannot correct every ignition, sensor, control, or venting failure.
Repeated resets are not a repair when the same fault returns.
