Daniel’s Plumbing & Son recently completed a kitchen drain line repair at a residential property in Bellflower, California. The Long Beach team used a camera inspection to locate a damaged section beneath the concrete slab, opened the affected area, replaced the damaged cast-iron section with ABS, and patched the cement.

THE PROBLEM
A Leaking Kitchen Drain Beneath the Slab
The kitchen drain line was leaking beneath the concrete slab. Because the affected piping was concealed, the damaged section first had to be located before the concrete could be opened for repair.
INSPECTION AND ACCESS
Camera Location Before Opening the Concrete
A drain-line camera was used to trace the kitchen line and identify the damaged section. Once the location was established, the concrete was saw-cut to create access to the pipe beneath the slab.

Located the damaged section
A camera inspection was used to identify the problem area beneath the concrete slab.
Opened the affected area
The concrete was saw-cut to provide direct access to the concealed kitchen drain line.
Replaced damaged cast iron
The damaged cast-iron drain section was removed and replaced with ABS piping.
Patched the concrete
After the pipe replacement was completed, the cement access area was patched.

Damaged Cast Iron Replaced With ABS
The damaged cast-iron section was removed and replaced with ABS. After the piping work was completed, the concrete access area was patched. These photographs document the project from the located slab area through the completed cement repair.
